Meet the Assistant Chief

Position: Assistant Chief of Police

Assistant Chief T. D. Brown was appointed by Chief Hudson in 2012. He is responsible for assisting the Chief of Police in the planning and administration of Clarkston Police Department operations. Asst. Chief Brown is responsible for the overall administration of the Department in the absence of the Chief of Police and he is responsible for the Operations and the Support Services function.

Asst. Chief Brown began his career with the DeKalb County Police Department in 1998 as a patrolman. During his tenure with DeKalb County Police, he has work within various units such COPS (Community Oriented Police), General Crimes Units, and SVU (Special Victim’s Unit). As a Senior Detective within DeKalb’s Major Crimes Division, he received many accolades from notable areas of government throughout the state. Brown’s efforts as a Detective gained him notice from the prior Clarkston Police Chief and he was subsequently hired by the Clarkston Police Department in 2008 with the responsibilities of managing the Criminal Investigation Division.

Asst. Chief Brown is currently enrolled as a senior at Columbia Southern University; in pursuit of a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. He has expressed interest in attending law school in the future.
